Cellar Compass — for restaurants

A sommelier in every pocket.

Cellar Compass turns your menu and cellar into a quiet conversation with every guest. No staff training. No backend. Live in five minutes.

This is a working prototype. A pilot programme is the next step.

How it works

Four moments — from a printed QR to a poured glass.

  1. 01

    QR on the table

Each venue gets a unique URL and QR. Print, laminate, slip into the bill folder. The diner scans, the experience opens — no app to install.

  2. 02

    Guest picks a dish

The menu is yours, with photos and prices. Choosing a dish is the only input — there is no chat box, no tool to learn.

  3. 03

    Top three wines, ranked

An algorithm tuned to body, acidity, and tannin scores every label on your list. The top match is auto-selected with the rationale shown like a quiet message from the bot.

  4. 04

    Your sommelier still leads

Hand-curated overrides take precedence. A sentence written by your sommelier — in English and Polish — replaces the algorithm's draft.

II.

What you get

A short list. Each item earns its place.

01

Per-venue QR

Direct URL and printable code for each location.

02

European map

Real-world Leaflet+OSM. Guests find you, agencies find your network.

03

Two-way ranking

Pick a dish — wines re-order. Pick a wine — the menu re-orders.

04

Sommelier overrides

Your wording, not the machine's. Curated entries beat the algorithm.

05

Bilingual EN ↔ PL

Every dish, every wine, every rationale — in both languages.

06

Mobile-first

Designed for the phone in the diner's hand, not the manager's laptop.

07

No backend

All edits live in the browser. Export JSON to move venues between devices.

08

Five-minute onboarding

Open the admin, paste your menu, generate the QR. Done.

III.

Three views, one product

What the guest sees, what you see, what your sommelier edits.

Questions a restaurant owner asks

  • You do. The demo keeps everything in your browser; the production tier writes to a database under your name with a clean export at any time.

  • Yes. The admin has Export JSON today. Production adds CSV and a one-click backup to your Google Drive or S3 bucket.

  • The demo carries placeholder labels. Before any guest-facing pitch we replace each entry with a verified vintage photo and current market price — that is part of the pilot.

  • Yes — only to open the page. Once loaded the experience is offline-capable; we cache the menu and pairings via the service worker.

  • EN and PL are live now. Adding Italian, French, Spanish or German is a one-day swap of the locale dictionary; the schema is already shaped for it.

  • Either we have run a paid pilot together, or you walk away with the JSON export and your QR codes in your pocket. There is no lock-in by design.
